Shiitake Growing Log on Alder

Log inoculated with Shiitake mycelium and sealed with wax.

The logs are about 34" long and between 3" and 4" in diameter.

These logs will take between 8 months and 1.5 years before producing their first harvest but will continue to produce for the next 3 to 5 years.

They should be stored outside near the ground (slightly elevated) in a shaded area protected from the wind but not from the rain.

Harvests are mainly in the fall and spring when humidity is high and temperatures are cooler.
